Sunday Morning Recap 15

March 3, 2008

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, it’s time for the Sunday morning recap at Fellowship Church.  Billy already gave his here.  Here are some thoughts I had about my weekend at Fellowship Church.

*I attended a benefit dinner for Hearts for Heat this weekend.  Hearts for Heat is a ministry of Fellowship Church, and is doing an amazing job of providing oil for people in Worcester County.
*I ate with Massachusetts State Rep. Lew Evangelidis at the dinner.  Turns out he plays in my basketball league.  We haven’t played against one another yet, but when we do…
*Saturday we helped the Dancy’s move into Holden.  The team is coming together and the future of FC looks great!
*After that, I was sore.
*It’s amazing how when things fall apart, like in music practice or whatever, that God comes through and gets us past it.
*We are only a few weeks away from our Easter service, where we’ll all find out how to vote.  Should be a great service.
*Billy made some hilarious confessional videos for the service yesterday.  There was a lot of laughter, specifically at the last one when he was jamming out to Feist.
*Totally psyched about the guitar hero championships next Saturday at “The FC.”  Played for the first time in 2 months yesterday against Carie.  Gonna need to practice this week.
*I confessed that there are times I don’t think I can do the thing God has called me to do.
*Yes, I really did fail my broadcasting platform, and yes, then I did graduate with a real degree after working my tail off on learning how to talk.
*Yes, this was Moses’ problem too.
*No, I don’t doubt that I made the right decision to stay at Fellowship.
*Were you inspired to find out what God’s vision is for your life?
*I love Fellowship Church in Holden!
*Have a basketball game tonight.  Pray for me that I don’t injure myself, and that some state rep for Mass. doesn’t injure me in any great way.
*My dad just called me and told me that his attendance at church yesterday was 800!  Go Hillcrest!

How are you doing?  Anything I can do for you?

Until next time…

Sunday Morning Recap 14

February 25, 2008

Happy Monday!  Here is a recap of Sunday Morning @ Fellowship:

* I am so proud of the lead team at Fellowship. They work together every week, along with our volunteers to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
*How about that band?  Al is really growing as a worship leader, and the band sounds incredible.  They did a great job jammin’ out to the Happy Song!  This got the crowd moving.
*We announced yesterday on Easter that we would have a united service at 10:30 am
*Want to participate in the Guitar Hero Championships to raise funds for some of our family ministry volunteer to attend the orange conference?  I’m in.  If you’d like to be, check this out.
*Started a new series this week called, “Confessions of a pastor”. I confessed that sometimes I don’t feel like praying.  Sometimes this happens when relationship is strained.  Check these verses out.
*Had the Link last night.  Interesting dichotomy of good and bad.
*Start with bad = I had this whole idea/plan in my head.  It really didn’t pick up steam, and the logistics struggled.  This is what happens when a visionary person works on details.  I really needed to let more people in on the planning process. Won’t make that mistake again.  Uuugh.
*Finish with good = In the end, I was shocked to hear, though I was in stress mode, that people really enjoyed themselves, and that it really was an opportunity for people to meet other people at the FC they hadn’t previously met.
*Note to self = Never again use personality test for a time passer.
*Apology to everyone else = Please accept my apology for any personality test trauma.
*I’m really excited that Fellowship is bringing in new people and our church is welcoming them into our family.  A shout out to Fellowship for all their fellowship.  Let’s continue the vision God has given us!

For the afternoon blog, instead of a funky video with my big mug, may I interest you in this little recap of Sunday Morning @ Fellowship?

I hope you’re having the most amazing day ever. I’ll also include some pics of several of my friends from Fellowship and around the world. I owe you a dollar if you can tell me the name of every single face on this blog.  Let me know here.

Sunday morning recap…

February 18, 2008

Some thoughts on Sunday Morning @ Fellowship:

*Does it always have to be cold in the winter?
*So looking forward to Al being around soon, and I can focus my life more.  I just had too much to do yesterday.
*Played with the band yesterday and we went the acoustic route. It was super sweet!
*Cj, Ben, Joel and I love playing together.  It was a blast.
*I think we, as a church, and me,as an individual, have room for improvement.
*Peter moved, Cornelius listened, God was glorified, and His kingdom advanced. (Acts 10)
*Steve, Jay, Billy, Al, and Jeff are amazing guys that I love working with to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
*Really enjoyed watching all the Fellowshipping going on after the service.
*The Link is happening next Sunday evening at 5!  If you want to register for it, feel free to that here.
*Enjoyed eating with Carie and several from my Fellowship Family at Moe’s after the service.  “Welcome to Moe’s!”

How was your Sunday?

Until next time…

Sunday Morning Recap (saved)

February 12, 2008

Yesterday I wrote several thoughts on Sunday’s service @ Fellowship, and then I sent it out and lost it somewhere in webville.  So Al does a great job here of sharing his experience on Sunday, so we’ll stick with that.

Sunday Morning Recap

February 4, 2008

Wow!  What a day it was in New England and at Fellowship Church.  As usual, I’ll start off with Fellowship Church on Sunday, February 3, 2008.

*I’m starting to think that most people in our church really enjoy waking up later than earlier, but that’s okay, I still like the warm smiles of the 9:30 attenders.

*I need to give a major shout out to our production team of Jack, Kara, and Phil, who did an amazing job on during both services on Sunday morning.

*I woke up at 3AM in a cold sweat, then was at the church preparing for the morning at 4.  You might say I wasn’t comfortable quite yet with the service.

*So we’ve had some great music in my time here at Fellowship (almost 9 years), but on Sunday was the “tightest” our music has ever been.  The band was amazing.

*”Lean on me” started off the service, and I thought some people were gonna bust out with their lighters.

*We continued our series focusing on authentic community called “The ATOM bomb” where we discussed the T, called Transformation.

*Spiritual Transformation occurs in our life, when we listen to and are influenced by other people in the context of intentional relationship.

*The songs were “Lean on me”, “My glorious”, “Holy is the Lord God Almighty”, and “Let me sing”

*I co-led worship, and preached twice.  Way too much for one morning, but I loved every second of it.  You have to do what you have to do.

*In the afternoon, I slept.

*Carie, Jessica, and I went to the Van Ripers for our super bowl party.  Had a great time, and I probably drank too much soda.  And by probably, I mean definitely.

*I don’t know what to say about the super bowl, except I rooted for both teams at different times throughout the game, and really, really enjoyed watching the game.  It was one of the best I’d ever seen, as far as super bowls go.

*I’m unlike most people around here, I like the Mannings, so I’m glad for Eli, but please, don’t let him do every commercial possible.  This would make me not want to watch football anymore.

*I also started a new book yesterday.  John Grisham’s new legal thriller, “The Appeal.”  More info as it comes.

Until next time…

Sunday morning recap…

January 28, 2008

I just saw Rambo on the big screen.  It was short, action packed, and Sylvester Stallone talked only a small amount. All of this led to a pretty good movie if you’re down with blood and violence.  If not…I’d go with “The Bucket List”.

Now, about yesterdays services at Fellowship.

*We started a new series called “The ATOM Bomb” that focuses on the four principles we use for each of our life groups. Here’s a link where I talked about our small groups.

*It snowed.

*I’m excited to see what the future of Fellowship Church’s small group community is going to look like.

*Al and Amy busted out some great vocals in the music.

*I was told in one service on Sunday the nursery had double digits.  Babies coming left and right @ FC!

*I love talking about authentic community.  And the rest of this series is going to be great!

*I’m playing my first basketball game tonight.  Pray for me.  I’ll probably blog about it tomorrow, amidst the pain.

Until next time…
